Huay Xai & Pak Beng,Mekong Delta

Officially the most stunning border crossing ever.  You hop into a long-boat from the Thai side of the river, 30 seconds later you reach Huay Xai in Laos. An hour later, Visa sorted, I am on the two-day slow boat that takes you up the Mekong river into Northern Laos.

It’s a Monday morning. To be precise it’s 9am. In real life I should be sat somewhere along the M62 in rush hour traffic. Today I am sat on beanbags sailing up a beautiful river, with a huge group of nice boat friends sipping Whisky and Beer Lao, listening to music, playing cards, learning Swedish. Yes it’s a bit early for 9am drinking, but we are on a boat, it’s allowed. This is how we spend a perfect two days, life could be worse.

For some innovative blogging, Dan and Dana captured the whole day’s antics in real(ish) time. I love this idea, and am eternally grateful to you guys for capturing the whole trip perfectly and for preserving such amazing memories in this vid….

Connecting to %s : The Anantasin is the name of a shipwreck just of the coast of the Sensi Parasise, Mae Haad Bay, Koh Tao, Thailand. It’s one of my many favorite places.

Lit.tle: Just because it’s cute.
