Vang Vieng, Laos

Tubing is officially THE most fun you can have (semi) legally on a river. Makeshift bars, face paint, ribbons, music, puppies, mud volley ball, zip wires, rapids. It’s like all of my favorite things combined. I just love the idea that there once was a peaceful river by a sleepy town, and some nutjob came along thinking ‘I know what is missing here, some perilous fun…..’ The stats aren’t good, they loose one person each year (or month, depending on who you believe), we did indeed see a few girls face-plant into rocks. Amatures. However if there is one thing to do before (slash, whilst) you die, it is tubing in Laos.

Luang Prabang, Laos

Magical, mystical Luang Prabang. You would think it was Narnia the way everyone talks about it. There is only this place and San Francisco that it seems everyone hearts. Me included. A UNESCO heritage site, sat between the Mekong and Nam Khan rivers, it is a pretty little town that you can’t swing a (street) cat at for all the temples.

Lowlights:  An evil cocoanut tried to attack me. It really did fall from a tree millimetres from my head. I would have been out cold. No one else was around but it really did make me laugh out loud in the street.  It split in two and I took a bite, so I believe I won.

Highlights: All the Veggie street food, bakery heaven, markets. Oooh and wine. Me and Dana (of Dan and Dana) nearly imploded with excitement at our first cold glass of white vino. Delish.

And yes VC you were right, Unique does have the most exciting thing I have seen in a bar…. : The Anantasin is the name of a shipwreck just of the coast of the Sensi Parasise, Mae Haad Bay, Koh Tao, Thailand. It’s one of my many favorite places.

Lit.tle: Just because it’s cute.
