24 Hours in… Kuala Lumpur

Ahh KL with your sweet smelling clove cigarettes, everlasting traffic jams, and scruffy chaos. Sometimes you need distance from where you live (Singapore) to appreciate it more deeply. Sometimes you need to stock up on dirt cheap toiletries & illegal chewing gum. Sometimes you just need to enjoy a weekend roadtrip.

Here’s a top 10 if you find yourself with 24 hours in Kuala Lumpur…

Where We Stayed: Reggae Mansion, Chinatown. Immaculate capsule style dorms from $40RM. Freewelcome drink on arrival up on the famous roof terrace. It has to be one of the all-time fanciest hostels. Top rated.

Getting There: Starmart Express Coach $30SNG one way, 10 departures a day. Journey time 5 – 6h, including customs. Departs from Singapore’s Golden Mile Complex direct to KL’s Bajaya Times Square. Reclining massage seats even in economy class.

City Tours: Reggae Tours: 7 Wonders of Amazing Places in KL, $65RM, 10am – 4pm. Bookable 24h a day at Reggae Mansions. Well worth it for compact/friendly/hassle free sightseeing.
