Training Shed, Labrador Park…

After 19 months of living here, I finally shake my ass down to much hyped Sunday session – Training Shed. Run by uber-cool event company Sideshow, their once-monthly party is hidden off the beaten track in a forest beer garden 1k down Port Road. It’s a little like an English garden fate meets African bongo club.  Amazingly for this level of diversity – it’s a) free! and b) in Singapore!

From 3pm to dusk there’s a nice family vibe with hippy toddlers playing with their crayons on blackboard graffiti boards. After dark the guest DJ’s turn to bongo percussion & salsa mixes. If you get tired of the dance floor there’s overpriced food ($14 a hotdog) yet ok-priced beer ($8 Archipelago.) Go figure. Best of all, it all wraps up for 10pm to keep a perfectly mellow (non-hangover!) Sunday.

An.an.tas.in : The Anantasin is the name of a shipwreck just of the coast of the Sensi Parasise, Mae Haad Bay, Koh Tao, Thailand. It’s one of my many favorite places.
