Foz do Iguazu, Brazil….

An impromptu hop over the border to Brazil! Popped there for a drink  to meet some Buenos Aires friends. As you do.

I would have also popped to Paraguay, but rumor is all the crime ridden Ciudad del Este is good for is guns, prostitutes and electronics. I’m set thanks. Plus, and this was the deal breaker, it’s so illegal you don’t even get passport stamps. No deal.

I spent the afternoon poolside in the lovely Paudimar Hostel. This is where I met my absolute favorite character so far; Louis. He’s French and 74 years old.

No word of a lie, this was his opener: “So, Justin Beiber….Did you know he’s had his hair cut?”

Me; “Well yes, actually I did know this.” (He clearly knew his audience)

Louis: (Warming to me…) Do you know who has been invited to the Royal Wedding?…(Didn’t wait for an answer)…David and Victoria. Who is your favorite Spice Girl?

We went on like this for hours. He is a fellow Heat mag junky. It was clearly a meeting of the minds. I bloody LOVE this guy! We play dominoes together too. A rather random but brilliant encounter.
